Registered Principal
Mike Morrison, a registered principal with Centaurus Financial,Inc. is passionate about educating people so they can make informed decisions that support their personal financial goals. He has taught financial planning classes for over 24 years and currently teaches spring and fall workshops in the Metroplex. His passion for knowledge and helping people attain financial security is a natural outcome of being a third generation educator.
As the son of a football coach, moving from town to town was a way of life. He spent much of his childhood in small west Texas towns before moving to Fort Worth where he excelled in a variety of sports. Due to his discipline, natural talent and hard work he was recruited by Texas A&M University with an athletic scholarship. Sport related injuries sent him back to his roots in west Texas where he later earned a Finance degree from Texas Tech University.
Motivated by challenge and sense of adventure, Mike took advantage of a unique opportunity to build, own, and operate a chain of restaurants in Louisiana and Texas. In 1987 after 14 years in the restaurant business, Mike's true yearning, to help others plan for their future, inspired him to start his own financial planning practice.
Mike is past President of the Highland Village Rotary Club, member of the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce, and member of his church, Cross Timbers Community Church. He enjoys volunteering in community events, playing golf, and tennis. He delights in his nine grandchildren, five children, and his beautiful wife Diane. Diane and Mike are living and loving life together as they work side by side in their Highland Village Branch Office.
Mike is known for his ability to readily relate to people of all ages and backgrounds. He attributes this to his diverse and mobile life as he was growing up. His clients benefit from his genuine caring, depth, and breadth of knowledge in his field.
Mike holds the Series 6,7, 26, 63 and 65 securities registrations, insurance license, stays current on continuing education requirements, and has completed the Executive CFP Certificate Program through the Professional Development Institute (University of North Texas).
